Hurricane Harvey

Dear SOPC Family,

By now we all are aware of the catastrophic affects Hurricane Harvey has wreaked on the state of Texas. The devastation caused by this horrific occurrence has been - to say the least - extremely costly to thousands who are in desperate need of food, clothing, and shelter to name a few. Your financial contribution to assist in providing disaster relief for so many victims is greatly appreciated.

Accordingly, we ask that you join with the Saints of SOPC by giving whatever dollar amount you feel led to contribute during our month long Hurricane Harvey Relief Love Offering. Our contributions will be funneled through Mission to North American and of course is tax deductible. If you are donating cash please place it in an envelope marked "Harvey" and place it in the offering tray when it is circulated; or you may see either Will Carr or Sheila Turner-Carr and give your donation to them.  And, if you are unable to attend Sunday worship service, please feel free to mail your donation to the church: 9169 Union Park Way, Elk Grove, CA 95624.  As always, if paying by check, please be sure to annotate "MNA" in the memo field.  Again we will be accepting your love offering now until the last day, which is Sunday, October 8

Also the 'Quilts for Kids in Need' group will be sending all the quilts completed to MNA or a local PCA church in the effected area.  Please see Sheila if you have blankets, fabric or batting to donate toward this effort.

In addition, Sheila collects plastic bottles and aluminum cans (that have the CA CRV recycle refund) and turns the proceeds into SOPC; but from now until October 8 the monies received from the recycling will be a love offering for the hurricane relief.  Please consider donating your plastic bottles and aluminum cans.  You can bring them into church for Sheila to collect and recycle, or recycle them yourselves and donate the monies.

Thank you all in advance, for your generous contributions!
